Fair use Policy

Last updated: August 5, 2026

Effective date: 5 August 2026

This policy explains what "unlimited imports" means on the Premium and Family plans. It is part of our Terms of Service.

We wrote this because "unlimited" is a word a lot of apps use without saying what it covers. We would rather publish our limits than operate hidden ones.

What unlimited means

On Premium and Family, we do not meter your imports. There is no weekly, monthly, or lifetime quota. You will never be charged extra, throttled, or cut off for using ReciDeck heavily as a cook — however many recipes you save, and however often you save them.

The limits below exist to stop automated and commercial-scale abuse. They are set far above what any person cooking at home will reach.

The limits, in full

There is no weekly, monthly, or lifetime quota on Premium or Family. The only limits that apply are short-window rate limits, which exist to stop automated and bulk activity:

  • 5 imports per minute

  • 20 imports per hour

There is no daily cap and no limit on how many recipes you can hold. If you reach a rate limit, imports are slowed rather than refused — nothing is lost, and the limit clears on its own within the hour.

Plan allowances, where they apply, are shown in the app.

What isn't allowed

Unlimited access is for individual, personal, non-commercial cooking use. The following are not permitted on any plan:

  • Automation. Scripts, bots, scrapers, emulators, or any tool that submits imports without a person initiating each one.

  • Bulk archiving. Systematically importing a creator's, publisher's, or site's whole catalogue.

  • Credential sharing. Sharing your login outside your household. The Family plan exists for households — use it instead.

  • Resale. Reselling, sublicensing, or providing ReciDeck's import capacity as part of another product or service.

  • Commercial use. Operating ReciDeck as infrastructure for a business, publication, or content operation.

What happens if something looks wrong

If your account shows a usage pattern consistent with the above, we will contact you first. In most cases this is a misunderstanding or a misconfigured device, and it gets resolved in one email.

Where a genuine problem continues, we may temporarily reduce import speed or concurrency while we look into it. Suspension is a last resort, reserved for deliberate or repeated abuse, and it follows the notice process in §11 of the Terms of Service. If we ever terminate a paid account for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the unused part of your subscription.

Changes

If we change these thresholds in a way that reduces what you can do, we will announce it at least 30 days in advance, in the app or by email.
